A retreat, from one day long to a week or more, is an ancient practice shared by the great religions of the world. Stepping outside the rush of daily life into a space marked by quiet, beauty, and hospitality enables people to catch their breath. Being still, if only for a day, also helps one remember what is really necessary for a life lived well. Spiritual direction is an ancient practice of helping people listen to the movement of the Spirit.

Personal Retreats 
Over the centuries, women and men have looked to monasteries as places to regain their bearings. Sometimes people want a private retreat, so we provide an environment that invites you to relax and be at home. Sometimes you might want a retreat in which you have the chance to talk with a spiritual director, someone who will listen with you to the questions that are important for your well-being. There is really no pattern. What is needed is the desire for time and space and the courage to be still and listen to where your heart leads.

Personal Retreat Options
(All options include private room and meals)

• Daytime Retreat 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. ($30)
• 24-Hour Retreat ($60)
• Spiritual Direction Retreat / One Hour Direction Daily ($90 per day)
• Five-Day Retreat ($240) – Spiritual direction available at $30 per hour
• Thirty-Day Retreat With 20 hours of Spiritual Direction ($2040)

Directed Retreats

A formal directed retreat at the Center typically features a leader with significant background and experience to guide participants in reflection around a central theme or idea. These brief retreats can be moments rich in new insights as well as times for quiet prayer. All costs noted below include meals.

Spiritual Direction 
At its heart, spiritual direction is about listening. It is being in conversation with someone skilled in listening to what you are saying as you seek to understand how God moves in your life. It is also about you listening more attentively to the questions, concerns, and wonderings you carry in your heart.

A spiritual director helps cultivate an inner wisdom. The director listens, encourages, challenges, and prays with you wherever you are in your life journey. There is no set formula for what needs occur in spiritual direction, only an invitation to be open. Nor is spiritual direction for certain types of people. Everyone can benefit from the championship of a skilled person ready to walk with you in your spiritual journey.

There are no set number of meetings for spiritual direction or a need to commit to a certain length of time. You and your director determine how this ancient practice can best be helpful to you.

The suggested cost for spiritual direction is $50 per hour.
