Benedict in Changing Times
A Keynote Series Celebrating the 30th Anniversary
of the Benedictine Center

The Benedictine way emerged from within an ancient period of political and social unrest, calling men and women to live steadfast in a biblical vision of discipleship. Across changing and challenging centuries, the Rule of St. Benedict persisted with timeless wisdom. The Benedictine Center of St. Paul’s Monastery continues to share that wisdom as it helps people learn to live as disciples in the midst of busy, complex lives, helping women and men re-discover the power of prayer and community in ways that can endure. In 2013, the Sisters celebrate thirty years of their retreat ministry with four events. Click on the title below to register for each event.

What Monasticism Teaches the World (S. Mary Forman OSB, Jan. 25)

Art and Scripture (Esther de Waal, Mar. 21)

Jul. 11, 2013 A Practiced Christianity (S. Meg Funk OSB)

In an age of disposability, uncertainty, and amidst an absence of mutual respect in public dialog, the virtues and practices of Benedictinism speak with prophetic urgency. Author and teacher of monastic spirituality S. Meg Funk OSB brings to light a vision for discipleship still persuasive after 1500 years.

Fall 2013 Festival of Readings and Hymns with Exhibit of The Saint John's Bible
Benedictine monasteries have been places where art in all its forms inspires devotion to God. This closing event of the 30th Anniversary Celebration lets sacred art and hymns proclaim the presence of God that anchors the retreat ministry.
