Christian women for centuries, and especially the mystics, have listened to the word of God, pondered it in their hearts, and acted in ways which altered the course of history. Today’s women of prayer and action live in the same spirit of listening, pondering, and ministering with boldness. Join S. Martha Alken, a Dominican sister, for a day of retreat which will renew the love of God’s word and inspire women to respond with their lives.

Description:
Early Christian testimony reflects Jesus’ inclusive, relational approach toward women and models our call to promote “oneness in Christ” among women of all ages. Through experience and conversation, this three hour retreat will explore ways to nurture those relationships which are most near and dear: grandmothers and granddaughters, mothers and daughters. Open to women with daughters and/or granddaughters ages six and older.

To love and support someone with dementia results in grief from lost relationship, shattered dreams, loss of freedom and exhaustion. Come be with others on the journey. Great Conversation: What Is Authentic for Us as Leaders?

Description:
Conversation has the power to inspire and transform. In that spirit the Benedictine Center has commissioned five facilitators to host four unique conversations. The experiences will include a brief reflection leading into dialogue and will be followed by prayer with the monastic community and lunch. Afterward, the facilitator will assemble and share a summary of the insights which emerge from the discussion. Each conversation is limited to 12 participants.
