Description: Conversation flourishes when people are attentive to the impact of their words. Just talking, filling up airspace with words, can derail shared meaning and even create barriers to mutual learning. St. Benedict wrote in the Rule about the importance of what we might call "measured speech." It is an invitation to being attentive to what we want to say, how we say it, and how we learn from our conversation partners whether we have been heard.

Description: Loving and supporting someone with dementia can result in exhaustion as well as grief from lost relationships, dreams, and freedom. Come be with others on the journey. Deacon, chaplain and spiritual director Steve Arnold provides a time for caregivers to share stories, feelings, frustrations, and joys. Together In the Mystery: Training for Supervisors of Spiritual Direction
