DESCRIPTION:We still have a seats available. Please register here: \n \n  \nThe Opening Celebration of “Christmas at the Monastery”. Whether you join us in the peaceful space of St. Paul’s Monastery or participate from the comfort of your home\, this retreat invites you into sacred stillness and joyful anticipation. \nAdvent Retreat: Where the Light Comes In\nSaturday\, December 6 | 9:00–11:00 AM\nHill-Murray School – Staff Lounge \nAdvent is a time of light as we enter a season of short days\, long nights\, and the somber stillness of winter. At the same time\, liturgically we anticipate the brilliant Light come into the world in the birth of Jesus. In this extended meditation on light\, we will rely on the wisdom of writers and artists to help us find our own words to describe living into the light despite the powers of darkness.\n \nJoin St. Paul’s Monastery at Hill-Murray School for a reflective Advent Retreat that invites you into the sacred rhythm of waiting and wonder. Rooted in Benedictine values\, this morning retreat will offer quiet space to prepare your heart for the coming of Christ by exploring incarnational themes of hope\, stillness\, and expectation. In a season often filled with noise and hurry\, come to slow down\, breathe deeply\, and reflect on the mystery of God-with-us. \nGuided by a thoughtful retreat leader\, Vic Klimoski\, the morning will include prayer\, silence\, and insights from the Rule of St. Benedict that can shape how we live and wait with intention. Whether you are new to monastic spirituality or deeply rooted in contemplative practice\, this retreat offers nourishment for your soul in the holy season of Advent. \nAll proceeds support the Benedictine Center’s ministry of spiritual formation and hospitality. Your presence is both a gift to yourself and to the wider community we serve. \nIn-Person at the Monastery $30\nVirtual online (through Zoom) $15\nAdvance registration recommended. \nCome\, be still\, and rediscover the hope that Advent promises. \nExtend your impact by adding a donation. Your generosity helps deepen and expand the mission of the Benedictine Center—nurturing souls and supporting seekers on their spiritual journey. \n \nVictor Klimoski\, Ph.D. is the former Director of Lifelong Learning Saint John’s School of Theology and past director of the Benedictine Center of St. Paul’s Monastery. Vic is a writer and editor for whom poetry helps him understand himself and the world. Because of that\, he offers support and encouragement to other writers through workshops and coaching. Born next to the Wolf River in northern Wisconsin\, he learned early that nature is his first and best teacher. He has produced eight collections of poems and edited three anthologies prior to Referencing Earth. \n  \n \n\nLooking for more information on Christmas at the Monastery? \n\nClick here for the Wine Tasting & Education with the Sisters\nClick here for the Cookie Decorating & Christmas Carols with the Sisters\nClick here for Trivia Mafia & Auction Finale at St. Paul’s Monastery\n\nClick here to learn more about our sponsorship opportunities. \nClick here to view our silent auction. \nClick here to view our volunteer opportunities. \n\n  \nSt. Paul’s Monastery and The Benedictine Center at St. Paul’s Monastery is a non-profit\, tax-exempt organization.
