Join us for a heartwarming celebration of all creatures great and small at the 2025 Blessing of the Animals, hosted by the Benedictine Sisters of St. Paul’s Monastery. This cherished ecumenical tradition will take place on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Paul’s Monastery, 2675 Benet Rd, St. Paul, MN.
Bring your beloved pets—whether they bark, purr, chirp, or slither—to receive a special blessing honoring the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. Each animal will receive a Benedictine medal and a St. Paul’s Monastery bandana, symbolizing our shared commitment to compassion and care.
This year, our celebration extends beyond our monastery grounds as we support Tubman’s Harriet’s Haven for Pets, a pioneering initiative providing safe shelter for pets of domestic violence survivors. Recognizing that nearly 50% of survivors delay leaving abusive situations due to concerns for their pets’ safety, Harriet’s Haven offers a haven for both humans and their animal companions, ensuring families can stay together during times of crisis.
Attendees are encouraged to bring pet food or toys/supplies to support this vital cause supporting Tubman’s Harriet’s Haven for Pets. Light refreshments will be available for both humans and pets, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.
Come and experience the joy of unity, the warmth of community, and the blessings of our animal companions. Together, let’s celebrate the bond between humans and animals, and support those in need.
