Are you a spiritual director who is looking for a peer supervision group to join? Join us at the Benedictine Center! We are ecumenical in nature and welcome directors of all backgrounds and levels of experience. There is no charge for this group.
Every spiritual director needs a group of peers to bounce ideas off of or bring challenging situations to for feedback and support.
This peer support group offers a sacred space for Christian spiritual directors to gather in prayer, reflection, and mutual encouragement. Together, we share the joys and challenges of accompanying others on their spiritual journeys while tending to our own ongoing formation. Through confidential conversation, shared wisdom, and listening to the Spirit, participants nurture their call to the ministry of spiritual direction and strengthen their sense of community and vocation.
We will select from a variety of models in the book Spiritual Direction Supervision: Principles, practices, & Storytelling by Lucy Abbott Tucker.
Mary EbbMary is the Spiritual Formation Coordinator at the Benedictine Center. Mary received her training as a spiritual director from Christos Center for Spirituality in Lino Lakes, MN. She is a retired attorney. Before law school at the University of Oklahoma, Mary served in full-time ministry for about ten years. She has a B.A. in English from the University of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota and has also done extensive graduate level work in Biblical studies and psychology.
Mary’s approach to spiritual direction involves deep listening. Her own experience of being deeply listened to and heard has profoundly shaped who she is and who she is becoming. She loves to ask questions that stir deep thought and reflection and sees this as way of helping people deepen their relationship with God and with others.
She loves to help others see that they are beloved and guiding them in a journey of learning how to live in God’s great love for them.
