Practicing Lectio Divina with Scripture, Creation, and Life Experience with Kathleen Cahalan
Lectio Divina is a spiritual practice in which we have a conversation with God through a sacred text, which in the Christian tradition are primarily scripture and creation. With these we will include sacred life experiences, when God comes to meet us in a holy encounter. During this retreat we will explore practicing lectio with each of these three sacred texts, and their relationship with each other.
If you are new to lectio, you can learn ways to begin this practice; if you are well-versed in lectio, come to renew and immerse yourself in it again. During the retreat we will practice silence, which means no speech outside of the teaching sessions and during prayer with the monastic community. Silence and the monastic rhythms will be container for our lectio.
