Life is full of thresholds—sacred spaces between what has been and what is yet to come. Whether you are entering a new season of vocation, family, health, or purpose, these moments invite us to slow down, listen deeply, and trust the Spirit’s gentle guidance.
During this retreat, we will explore how God meets us in times of change—offering grace, courage, and hope as we cross from the familiar into the unknown. Through prayer, silence, reflection, and shared conversation, participants will be invited to honor the past, release what no longer serves, and open their hearts to the new life emerging on the other side of the threshold.

Tod TwistTod trained as a spiritual director through the Franciscan Spirituality Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Tod earned his B.A. in history from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon and an M.A. in Theology from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota. He also did extensive graduate study in Hebrew and Semitic Studies at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He currently serves as the head of maintenance at St. Paul’s Monastery and the Benedictine Center.
Tod sees spiritual direction more as spiritual companioning and he approaches directees through deep listening, giving them the space to deepen their awareness and their connection to God. His hope for every conversation is that the participant’s awareness of God is heightened and that there is new movement toward God.
Tod and his beloved spouse are blessed with two (almost-grown) children. He notes that raising his kids exposed a lot of illusions he had about himself! Tod is accepting new directees.
