What is St. Paul’s Monastery?

St. Paul’s Monastery is home to the Benedictine Sisters of St. Paul’s Monastery, a community of Catholic women who live according to the Rule of St. Benedict and dedicate their lives to prayer, community, and service.

The Benedictine Center is a ministry of St. Paul’s Monastery that provides retreats, spiritual direction, workshops, and events to help individuals and groups deepen their spiritual lives through the Benedictine tradition.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of faith background. The Monastery and Benedictine Center provide prayerful hospitality, retreats, spiritual direction, and group conferencing to individuals and communities seeking spiritual growth.

Can I join the Sisters in prayer?

Yes! The Liturgy of the Hours and Eucharist are open to all. Visit our Prayer Schedule to find times for Morning Praise, Midday Praise, Evening Praise, and Mass.

The Liturgy of the Hours is a tradition of daily prayer consisting of psalms, hymns, and readings, prayed at set times throughout the day to sanctify time.

We would love to pray for you! Prayer requests can be submitted online through our Prayer Request form linked below. The Sisters will pray for your intention for two weeks, so feel free to re-submit your prayers.

Can I host a meeting or retreat at the Benedictine Center?

The Benedictine Center offers personal retreats, guided retreats, group retreats, and themed retreats focused on prayer, spirituality, and personal growth.

Yes! Personal retreats allow individuals to step away from daily life for prayer and renewal. Learn more and schedule a retreat by visiting the button link below.

Spiritual direction is a practice of deep listening and guidance, helping individuals discern God’s presence in their lives. Spiritual directors at the Benedictine Center are available for one-on-one sessions in person, over Zoom, or as part of a retreat.

The Art Gallery is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to call ahead at 651-777-8181 to ensure a welcoming experience.

Yes, the “Seeing God” juried exhibition is currently open for viewing, featuring contemporary artists who explore themes of spirituality and the divine.

What is a Benedictine Oblate?

An Oblate is a layperson who commits to living the values of Benedictine spirituality in their daily life while remaining in their secular vocation.

The Oblate formation process includes a year of study, reflection, and prayer with guidance from the Benedictine community. More information is available on the Oblate page.

A Benedictine Associate is a Catholic single woman who desires to live in close relationship with the Monastery, sharing in prayer, ministry, and community life.

There are many ways to serve as a volunteer, from assisting with hospitality to helping in the gardens, administration, or special events. Learn more on our Volunteer page.

Yes! Parish groups, students, and community organizations are welcome to volunteer for service projects and support the Monastery’s mission.

St. Paul’s Monastery gratefully accepts various forms of charitable contributions, including gifts of appreciated securities (stocks), Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) from Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), and grants from Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs). Yes, you can indicate if your donation is in honor or memory of someone on the donation form.​

Yes, St. Paul’s Monastery is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization under IRS tax code section 501(c)(3), making all contributions tax-deductible as allowed by law.
